Accommodations

Ballynahinch Castle's close association with the history of the area is reflected in each of its individually appointed bedrooms.
Rest comes easily when surrounded by the casual country elegance that is Ballynahinch Castle. Soft colors through out the hotel harmonize the stately rooms, which are complimented by panoramic views of the river and the beauty of the estate
Each of the forty bedrooms have private bathrooms and are decorated to the highest standards with your comfort in mind. Choose from an elegant standard, superior or luxury bedroom or a Riverside suite.
Standard Rooms all have private bath and shower, TV, and direct dial telephone. These are comfortable rooms with varying shapes and situated in the main section of the house with views either of the mountains, river or courtyard.
Superior Rooms are large individually appointed rooms with king size beds and a sitting area to savor the view of the river. All superior double rooms have 4 poster beds.
Our Luxury Rooms and Riverside Suites are in our riverside wing. These are beautifully appointed rooms where we pamper our guests with king size beds, luxury bathrooms with separate bath and shower, walk-through dressing area, luxury bathrobes and slippers.
All of these rooms enjoy stunning views over the river and woodland.

Dining

The Owenmore Restaurant provides a splendid panoramic view overlooking the beautiful Ballynahinch River and in the evening is the setting for a carefully prepared menu, which is complimented by an impressive wine list.
Under the expert guidance of Head Chef Robert Webster, the team create an exquisite menu using a splendid array of fresh local produce of the highest standards.
Spoiled by our proximity to the Atlantic and ready access to the freshest fish we also take advantage of the availability of quality organic game in the winter. Great care is taken when sourcing our ingredients. Robert always pursues the
organic option where possible, shunning any farmed fish, and buying only from the most reputable butcher who can confidently demonstrate the source of their cuts.
Chilled Atlantic Oysters with Shallot and Red Wine Vinegar, Oven Roasted Rack of Connemara Lamb with Rosemary and Garlic Jus, Seared Cleggan Scallops, Tomato and Anchovy Butter, and Poached Wild Salmon with Spinach and Lemon Beurre Blanc are
some of the culinary delights to be found in our dining room.
Robert’s can team always accommodate our guests’ with special dietary needs and always offer fabulous vegetarian entrees.
The Pastry chef prepares sinfully delicious deserts for those with the stamina to continue, tempting with such creations as Dark Chocolate Mousse with Passion Fruit Coulis, Lemon Tart with Chantilly Cream and our own home made ice-creams.
There is always a selection of the finest Irish Farmhouse Cheeses available.

Leisure Activities

Ballynahinch Castle and Connemara offer a wealth of activities and pursuits. There is something to suit everybody no matter what pace you prefer.
Pony trekking and hill climbing are all close at hand. Please contact reception who can organize pony trekking on the beach or contact the walking centre for guided walks through the Twelve Bens. Ballynahinch
Fishery is world renowned as one of the finest Salmon and sea trout rivers in Ireland. Also, Ballynahinch Castle holds sway over 13,000 acres of prime woodcock shooting held from November through to the end of January.
There are several golf courses in the area. The most renowned Golf Course being the Connemara Championship 18 Hole Links Course in Ballyconneely.
The Connemara Golf Course is course in only 12 miles/20 kilometers from Ballynahinch. There are numerous other 18 hole golf courses in the county such as The Barna Golf Course, The Galway Bay Course in Oranmore and the Oughterard
Golf Course. The hotel will be happy to make advanced bookings for tees and confirm the booking for you.
